Rounding out the year is this guide to all of the unlockables within the The Force Awakens Play Set. As with previous Unlockables guides it has all the Toy Box toys in Toy Store order for ease of working out which ones you've missed.
The Force Awakens Unlockables Guide
That pretty much concludes the guides for The Force Awakens, I'll add a Challenge locations guide and perhaps some other one but other than that it's all done.
Just in time for Christmas I have today completed and posted all four of my collectibles guides for the brand new Star Wars: The Force Awakens Play Set within Disney Infinity 3.0.
The Force Awakens Mynock Locations
The Force Awakens Champion Coin Locations
The Force Awakens Holocron Locations
The Force Awakens Hologame Locations
And very soon I will also be completing an Unlockables page for the Play Set as well.
Today marks the worldwide release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie as well as the brand new Play Set. Even if you don't have any Force Awakens toys yet you can still prepare for their arrival by collecting their Champion Coins in the Twilight of the Republic and Rise Against the Empire Play Sets.
Check out the updated guides below for the locations of the eight newly visible Champion Coins.
Twilight of the Republic Champion Coins - Rise Against the Empire Champion Coins
Stay tuned for further coverage of The Force Awakens in the coming days!
Finishing off the last of the Unlockables Guides is one for the Play Set for the Pixar film "Inside Out". Also added with it is a Collectibles Guide to the locations of all the Mind Manual Pages and Idea Bulbs scattered through each level.
Now to wait for The Force Awakens...
...and finally get around to fixing the site's design up I suppose.
It's a little over three weeks away from the release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens Play Set so Disney have created a quick trailer. Check it out on the official Youtube channel.
The Force Awakens will be released on December 18th, the same day as the film.
The other Toy Box Expansion, Toy Box Takeover, also has toys to unlock and coins to collect. I've added a guide to the Coin Locations as well as an unlockables guide that details how to unlock each toy as well as where to find each of the Sidekick capsules.
Toy Box Takeover: Unlockables Guide
Just one more of these to go!
Part three continues on with the Toy Box Speedway's unlockables. And to accompany the piece I've also added a quick guide to the locations of the coins in each track.
Toy Box Speedway: Unlockables Guide
Toy Box Takeover will be up next and then it's Inside Out.
Second in the series, I present to you an Unlockables Guide for the Rise Against the Empire Play Set. There are fewer items that need to be unlocked from this set, a lot more are just straight up purchases, but it'll still help out with those few that aren't.
Rise Against the Empire: Unlockables Guide
More of these guides coming soon!
As the game is incredibly vague about how you unlock each toy for the Toy Box I have started to compile lists that tell you which missions and feats unlock which toys and pieces of concept art. To kick it off here is a guide for the Twilight of the Republic Play Set:
Twilight of the Republic: Unlockables Guide
Check back soon for similar guides to the Rise Against the Empire and Inside Out Play Sets as well as the Toy Box Takeover and Speedway.
Today marks the release of the PC version of Disney Infinity 3.0 on PC. You can get the free download from the official website, Steam, or the Windows Store (if you're using Windows 10).
The PC game features the same full experience that you get in the console editions except that it does not use a base, you instead either buy characters digitally or you use the webcodes that come with the figures to unlock them.
You can still play the PC version even if you don't own anything, the game has a weekly rotating selection of characters that it'll let you try out. And if you're still after free characters you could try the Rewards program they're running where for every 10 friends you recruit you get a free character.
Additional features for the PC version over the console versions include Quests that you can complete to earn in-game rewards, a Daily Challenge (which is essentially just a round of the Hero Destroyer from Toy Box Takeover), and the ability to play demos of the Play Sets or Toy Box Expansions you don't already own.
The game is full to the brim with micro-transactions so be careful what you click on.
The systems requirements, as seen on the official website, are as follows:
Not content with just the reveal of a new Captain America figure and two new Star Wars The Force Awakens figures the internet has discovered an image that shows off three of the possibly four remaining Marvel figures.
The above image was found as part of a compatability chart on Amazon.com and shows off figures for Vision, Ant-Man, and Black Panther.
If the numbers provided by John Vignocchi earlier in the year hold true then we still have one more mystery Marvel figure to find.
Following hot on the heels of the first look at the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set at the weekend, we have our first glimpse at the toys that will be a part of the upcoming The Force Awakens Play Set.
We saw Finn and Rey at the D23 presentation earlier this year but now thanks to several pre-orders that have gone live we have confirmation of another two characters that will be native to the set: Kylo Ren and Poe Dameron.
There are also listings for a pack of Power Discs based on the film, however the image provided is just a set of blank discs. The retailers did however give a description of the discs: "Finn's Stormtrooper Costume", "Poe's Resistance Jacket", "Resistance Tactical Strike", and "Quad Jumper".
The Play Set and other accompanying toys are scheduled for release on the same day as the film: December 18th.
Just one month after the console launch the iPhone/iPad and Android editions of Disney Infinity: Toy Box 3.0 have gone live.
As the name implies the game is still Toy Box only, no Play Sets on the go I'm afraid. It does however feature the new Toy Box Hub, My INterior and, if you have registered its webcode, Toy Box Takeover.
Each week there will be a different selection of three free characters to try out but if you already have your own toys just input your webcodes to unlock them in the app. Otherwise you can buy digital versions of the characters individually or in bundles, other in-app purchases include sparks and hex discs.
Here's a brand new Skill Tree Calculator I've created that should help you plan out your 3.0 Edition characters' Skill Trees, just click on the image below to get started.
I will be updating it with new characters as they release. If you have any problems please comment below or on the calculator page itself.
For your 2.0 and 1.0 characters the old Skill Tree Calculator created for 2.0 should still be fairly helpful, for the most part all they've done in 3.0 is shuffle the layout of the skills.
And now for the last of the current Star Wars Play Set collectible guides, the 100 Mynocks of Rise Against the Empire. Luckily the space based ones actually have useful images this time. Click on that image to get to it.
There are another fifteen Holocrons hidden throughout the Rise Against the Empire Play Set and here is a guide to the locations of all of them, just click the image below.
Rise Against the Empire Holocron Locations
To round out the collectibles in the Twilight of the Republic Play Set here is a guide to the locations of the 100 Mynocks you can find all over the place.
Twilight of the Republic Mynock Locations
Princess Leia is a great character to use while searching for Mynocks thanks to her ability to see them on the radar.
That last one on Tatooine threw me for a bit but here is a guide to the locations of all fifteen Holocrons in the Twilight of the Republic Play Set of Disney Infinity 3.0, click to image below to view.
To accompany the previous Twilight of the Republic set of Champion Coin Locations here is a guide to the locations of all eleven Champion Coins in the Rise Against the Empire Play Set, just click on the image below.
To kick off a new set of guides for Disney Infinity 3.0 I present to you the locations of each of the eleven Champion Coins in the Twilight of the Republic Play Set, just click on the image below to see them. Champion Coins are similar in function to the Crossover Coins from 2.0 and are required to play as the other Star Wars characters - the only difference being that you only need one coin to play as a specific character.
Further guides detailing the locations of the Play Set's other collectibles, the 100 Mynocks and 15 Holocrons, will follow soon.
Disney Infinity 3.0 releases today in Europe so the internet is suddenly full to the brim with reviews. I've read through all that I could find and have compiled the annual review round-up. Spoilers: it's a lot more positive this year!
Infinity 3.0 feels like a surprisingly fresh experience in both play modes – playsets and Toy Box – thanks to some major changes in the way characters are controlled, the scope of the sandbox environments, and the creative options (and guidance) available in the world-building activities.
Disney Infinity 3.0 is the best of the series yet, with the excellent Twilight of the Republic starter set, and the general polish of the game overall is extremely refined with gameplay feeling much more responsive.
While the space combat was pretty simple, I still found it enjoyable and good for breaking up long stretches of running around on the ground. These space sections provided a little more variety and kept me playing for longer stretches than I did with the Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Play Sets.
It might not reach the level of cinematic authenticity the upcoming Battlefront is targeting, but as far as story-based adventures go Twilight of the Republic offers up one of the most entertaining Star Wars videogame experiences in years.
Whether you are collecting sparks to be spent in the in-game store, unlock special gifts and set pieces for use in construction, or become well versed in what you can and can’t do within the confines of the game’s creation system, fun is had at all times. Its fun and engaging, in a manner that is not usually found within content creation software.
What makes Disney Infinity so great is that Disney curates content for you in addition to all of the usual fixins, and provides easy access to top-rated creations -- so it takes very little effort to find the "good stuff." I had access to a limited amount of levels pre-launch, which includes a Gravity Falls level with a log ride and roller coaster, as well as a rhythm memorization minigame, a seek-and-find puzzle, a stealth sequence, and of course, classic platforming levels.
The surprising star of Disney Infinity 3.0 is Toy Box Takeover, a separately sold adventure that unites the Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel universes in a crazy adventure in which the strangest conflicts can arise – such as Minnie Mouse throwing explosive purses at stormtroopers.
Creation in the Toy Box is more intuitive than ever, allowing would-be designers to put levels together quickly and spend the bulk of their time polishing and perfecting them. You still must spend a lot of time unlocking everything.
Where melee strikes used to lack any sense of grace or weight, lightsaber combat is probably the highlight of the whole experience now, with a ton of cool moves available and a good sense of heft and timing to everything.
In previous Infinity titles, the sheer amount of "possibility" often left me paralysed with indecision, but 3.0 takes some of the user-friendly additions introduced in the previous game and amplifies them, making for a Toy Box experience that is easier to get into than ever.
It’s an experience with considerable polish that will introduce many young players to Star Wars franchise for the first time. Equally it will re-connect many parents who remember the original trilogy to the more recent joys of Rebels, Clone Wars and Episodes I, II and III.
The biggest and best Disney Infinity yet, with more activities to get you started in the Toybox mode, and stronger playset campaigns when you just want to play a game.
Disney Infinity 3.0 is a solid update to last year's edition, and fans will have a lot to like. It seems more focused on addressing complaints and shoring up weak points than it does in reinventing the wheel.
Even more in-depth than last time, the 3.0 Toy Box is a huge slice of wall-to-wall fun. There are agility challenges, combat challenges, a horde mode arena, air and ground races and an arcade. As before, you can hop into several pre-sets or the hub itself, or you can create your own Toy Box from scratch and share it online.

I'm certain that some aspect of the scene-hopping introduction was to market more things for players to buy, but it's done so well it didn't really bother me. This introduction is also, by far, the best intro the franchise has ever had, pushing players through a number of unique short missions while both training and entertaining them.
Forgoing the mindless button-mashing that left countless Frost Giants face down in last year's version, 3.0's Twilight of the Republic play set favors satisfying, nuanced encounters. Younger gamers can feel like badass Jedi Knights by hammering on attack inputs, but those craving a deeper, layered approach can string together combos, juggles, ground pounds, and dash attacks.
I was slightly disappointed by the combat. Even with the guiding hand of Ninja Theory, the motions still feel stiff and disconnected. Animations don't flow into each other smoothly. You can feel Ninja Theory's influence with some of the combos, but otherwise it's very similar and flawed in the same ways as the previous game.
Three years in, we'd have hoped to see something a bit more progressive or imaginative from Disney Infinity, as it matured. As it stands, we have another strong entry with enjoyable character expansions and a spectacular user content creation suite in the form of the Toy Box, but if feels like the series is entering a holding pattern of simply adding new characters each year.
I'll be adding in more reviews as I see them throughout the weekend as Disney Infinity 3.0 launches in North America on Sunday.
Details were scarce but today at the D23 presentation the name of the Marvel Play Set was revealed, it's called Marvel Battlegrounds and will for the first time feature 4 player simultaneous play in the Play Set. It was given a release date of March 2016. You'll be able to use all of your existing Marvel characters in the Play Set as well as new characters like Ultron and Hulkbuster Iron Man who are releasing in November well ahead of the Play Set itself. Still no actual reveal of Ant-Man.
Three new Disney figures for Disney Infinity 3.0 were unveiled, the first was Spot from the upcoming Pixar film The Good Dinosaur along with a set of matching Power Discs - they will be released in November. The second and third are from the upcoming Disney film Zootopia Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. The release date for that film is March 2016 so we can probably expect the figures around then.
A surprise during the Toy Box Summit earlier in the week saw the attending Toy Box Artists get the chance to choose a new figure to be added to the Infinity series next year (according to John Vignocchi he'll be in 3.0). That choice was revealed today as Peter Pan.
Another little piece of information revealed was that this year the Magic Band unlocks the iconic Partners statue of Walt Disney + Mickey Mouse.
A quick first look at the Star Wars The Force Awakens Play Set happened with a glimpse at figures for Finn and Rey and a quick clip of them in-game but nothing more was really said. One other Star Wars reveal was the existence of new LightCore "Light FX" figures with lightsabers that light up when placed on the Base, they'll be releasing in that November wave. Confirmed characters for that are Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Kanan Jarrus.
Spoilers for the ultimate unlock for collecting all of the Disney Infinity 3.0 figures released this year - it's the Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts! And finally, all the attendees received an exclusive costume change Power Disc that changes Mickey's costume to King Mickey - a very limited edition release with only 5000 of them made just for D23 so have fun on eBay!
Thanks to XboxAchievements.com the full Achievement list for Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition has been revealed. There are just 20 Achievements this time around all made up of general Toy Box activities (the digital release means they cannot guarantee you've got anything other than just the base game) with only one or two that look remotely complicated.

Disney have finally officially confirmed the release dates for Disney Infinity 3.0: August 30th in North America, August 28th in the UK, August 27th in Europe, and September 3rd in Australia.
So time for a quick round-up of what will be available at launch:
Starter Pack (PS4/PS3/One/360/WiiU) | Saga Bundle (PS4/PS3) |
Or instead you can buy a digital copy of the game through your console's store. In the UK you will be able to buy a physical copy of the software by itself or bundled with the Twilight of the Republic Play Set.
Play Set | Obi-Wan | Yoda | Power Discs |
Darth Maul will be released later on so they can avoid the minor review backlash about villains not having a proper role in the story of the Play Sets (rather than actually giving them a role).
Play Set | Disgust |
Fear (Amazon.com) |
Sadness |
Ezra Bridger (Toys R Us) |
Kanan Jarrus (Walmart) |
Sabine Wren (Target) |
Zeb Orrelios (GameStop) |
Mickey Mouse | Minnie Mouse | Mulan (Best Buy) | Olaf |
Sam Flynn | Quorra | Toy Box Takeover | Tomorrowland Power Discs |
Toy Box Takeover is going to be given away for free with most pre-orders of the game but you will still be able to buy it separately.
The Rise Against the Empire Play Set, characters and Power Discs are stated to be released approximately one month after launch, with Boba Fett following in January.
No projected release dates have yet been given for either The Force Awakens or the unnamed Marvel Play Sets.
At last night's Sony E3 press conference John Vignocchi took to the stage to present a segment on Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, during that presentation he revealed that there will be a limited edition of the Starter Pack exclusively on PlayStation platforms that comes with the Rise Against the Empire Play Set at launch along with a Boba Fett figure and the usual Twilight of the Republic Play Set, of course.
Rise Against the Empire will release one month after launch for other platforms and it's mentioned that the limited edition Starter Pack will be the only place to play as Boba Fett "before the holidays", but obviously the exact release date of the game will determine how long an exclusive that is.
The suggested retail price is set at $114.99 so while it might not save you any money or come with anything like the Frost Giant display we saw last year, it will get you content a whole month early.
Yep, the leaks were right again. Four characters from the TV series Star Wars: Rebels are going to appear in Disney Infinity 3.0, and while it looks like there won't be a Rebels Play Set they will be playable in all of the other Star Wars Play Sets just like the other Star Wars characters.
I've not watched a single episode of the show so have no idea who these are but here are the four toys that will be available:
Sabine Wren | Kanan Jarrus | Ezra Bridger | Zeb Orrelios |
Here are a few screenshots of them in action within the Twilight of the Republic and Rise Against the Empire Play Sets:
Check out this article on StarWars.com for some in-depth discussion about the creation of the figures. And finally, the first couple of minutes of this week's Toy Box TV has some footage of the new characters (and plenty more in this week's live Toy Box TV from about 45:40).
A new batch of information for the Rise Against the Empire Play Set has been unleashed upon us. Several Youtube videos have gone up with previews for the Play Set including ones from Coin-op TV, FamilyGamerTV and GameTrailers.
And here are some new screenshots from the Play Set with a look at the figures too:
And just revealed in the live Toy Box TV here are eight Star Wars themed Power Discs:
Princess Leia Boushh Disguise | Luke Rebel Alliance Flight Suit | Y-Wing Starfighter | Slave I |
General Grievous' Wheel Bike | Skies Over Felucia | Forests of Felucia | Galactic Team-Up: Mace Windu |
Disney have released a trailer for the Inside Out Play Set giving us our first look at its distinct play style compared to the Star Wars Play Sets.
The Play Set is set inside Riley's mind after she "catches a glimpse of a scary movie as she is falling asleep". It will have a much greater focus on platforming than the Star Wars ones will do but it will still feature enemies you'll have to combat.
Joy | Anger | Disgust | Fear | Sadness |
Game Informer has an article giving more details about the Play Set, including details on all the different abilities the characters possess.
In other news, a German retailer briefly published listings for several characters from Star Wars Rebels although the listings have since been removed.
Update: Reveal trailer and screenshots added:
Today Disney have finally officially unveiled their third entry to the Disney Infinity series, Disney Infinity 3.0 takes the focus to Star Wars. We'd seen in leaks the Starter Pack and some of the Disney Originals but now we have a much clearer idea of what the game will be about thanks to Game Informer.
The Play Set included in the Starter Pack will be called "Twilight of the Republic", featuring Anakin and Ahsoka as well as Obi-Wan, Yoda and Darth Maul. It is set around the time frame just after Episode II.
"Rise Against the Empire" is a mishmash of the original trilogy featuring Luke and Leia along with Chewbacca, Han Solo and Darth Vader toys. Apparently there aren't going to be restrictions on which of the Star Wars Play Sets the Star Wars characters can play in which is a welcome change to the odd Marvel restrictions of the last game.
A third Star Wars Play Set will be based on The Force Awakens but that will be released a little later on. There's confirmation of the Inside Out Play Set we saw in the leaks along with all of the other toys spotted on the back of the packaging Mulan, Olaf, Mickey, Minnie, Sam Flynn, Quorra and "more". And one more Play Set is mentioned, a Marvel one which has new toys for Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron and also "more".
If you live in the UK or Ireland you may be happy to hear that you will be able to buy a bundle of just the game disc and the Twilight of the Republic Play Set, so no need to get yet another base. You can even buy the game disc all by itself if you don't want the Play Set either.
And lastly good news for those who like Power Discs but don't much like the random nature of purchasing them, Blind Bags are no more. It will be clear exactly which Power Discs it is that you're buying for 3.0, they will also now be sold in packs of four.
Game Informer has a video showing a bit of behind the scenes with some screenshots of the game and a look at a few of the figures.
The Starter Pack for Disney Infinity 3.0 has been spotted by German fansite mydisneyinfinity.de on a German retailer's website (link may stop working soon). It confirms what everybody really knew already, that Disney Infinity 3.0 will be focusing its gaze towards Star Wars.
The Starter Pack features two characters from the Clone Wars series: Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano as well as the customary Play Set Piece to use them with. Compared with 2.0's offering of three characters a Play Set and two Toy Box Games it looks a little empty.
Further characters are seen on the box itself including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Darth Vader, C-3P0, R2-D2, Princess Leia and what looks like Darth Maul in a Pod Racer. While it is not clear whether they are all going to be playable characters (2.0 had only playable characters on the box but the first game's box featured some non-playable characters), they certainly appear to imply further Star Wars themed Play Sets from the different eras (unless they are all somehow combined into one giant Play Set I suppose). There are however no signs of any of the new characters from The Force Awakens, at least not just yet.
The retailer lists versions of the game for Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, all with a release date set for the 20th of August 2015, that's just four months away!
And finally if you missed the most recent update to the previous news post, three additional single Disney packages were leaked on Taobao that confirmed the existence of an Inside Out Play Set in 3.0. So at least this go around there'll be a bit more variety and it won't be all Star Wars all the time.
Looks like it's time to start up that hype train for Disney Infinity 3.0! A new German fansite mydisneyinfinity.de has spotted listings on Taobao, a Chinese online marketplace, for Mickey Mouse and Mulan in what appears to be Disney Infinity 3.0 packaging - but in a case of disappointment as old as Disney Infinity itself they are both marked as Toy Box only.
The listings also include a photo of the back of the packaging which shows off a whole selection of other Disney Originals. They include the two Tron figures that got cruelly snatched away from us in 2.0 (Sam Flynn and Quorra), the aforementioned Mulan, the classic design Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Olaf from Frozen and the five emotion characters from the upcoming Pixar film Inside Out (Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness) - the large number of which could indicate a Play Set (but that is of course pure speculation).
Remember that in the past we have seen marketing material for characters that did not appear in the final games, so even with this clear evidence of their existence don't get too attached to all of them until they are more officially revealed.
Update 27/4: Additional boxes have appeared. The three new single boxes are Disgust, Fear and Sadness. And yes, they do indeed have an "Inside Out" Play Set icon on the back. Which means that Joy and Anger are therefore likely to be the pair that will be in the Play Set Pack itself.
In yet another complete mess for the Disney Infinity PR team the last two Disney Originals characters have finally been officially revealed as Sam Flynn and Quorra from the Tron franchise, the catch being that they are digital only and therefore exclusive to the iOS and PC versions.
They are already available in the Toy Box 2.0 iOS app, you can buy them now for $2.99 (£2.29) if you really must. If you want them on PC you'll apparently have to wait until some time in March.
And if you're wanting to play them on console... well... tough luck. No toys means no play. Yes there were originally promises of a physical release and no there's no explanation as to what that was all about, just more disinformation like the Disney Play Sets I suppose. Roll on 3.0.
Those of you who have bought the Green Goblin will be happy to hear that the patch that contains the fix for his glider has released today.
After a few delays today marks the day that the iPad and iPhone version of Disney Infinity: Toy Box 2.0 is released around the world.
As the name of the app suggests you can create, build and play in the new version of the Toy Box from Disney Infinity 2.0 all on the go. This time around you can even connect online to play with other people in your Toy Boxes.
To play with your existing collection of characters you just have to unlock them using their web codes, you'll find those on the accompanying trading cards.
The game is free to download and play but it makes extensive use of microtransactions to unlock things like characters, power discs and large amounts of sparks, helpful if you don't already have the console version or any physical toys (although it does offer a rotating selection of three temporary free characters to play as). It will take up 4.4GB of space and will require an iPhone 5 or newer or an iPad 2 or newer to play.
